Here is what to do if San Bernardino filers are unable to find their document type in the drop-down list:
First check and make sure the document they are trying to eFile is not exempt from eFiling. https://www.sb-court.org/efiling/civil-efiling/civil-efiling-requirements
If the document is not on the exempt list, the court has advised:
Best practice:
Search for and choose the exact document type.
Plan B:
Use the name of the document that most closely describes your filing. Then include an explanation for the selection in the “Message to the Clerk” box.
Plan C:
If your filing is time-sensitive and you are unsure, place your order as a physical filing.
They can also call the Court and ask a clerk what document type (aka: filing code) they should pick for their filing, but their phone lines close at 3:00 PM, and their wait times are very long.
